2020 review: the importance of the HR function
Dear Santa,
I would like to emphasize how grateful the Iceberg Management team is to everyone with whom it worked throughout 2020. It was with resilience and determination that we stood together in the face of complexity HR issues.
We also want you to be able to convey our best wishes to the staff, managers, interns, partners and entrepreneurs with whom we have collaborated. Rest, relaxation, pleasure and health to start again strong in 2021. We would also like to remind you thatmany resources are accessiblefor all those who need special help in these difficult times.
End of December is also synonymous with balance sheets. When we take stock of the world of work during this period of pandemic, a generalized observation seems to emerge: the time when human resources management, long perceived by some employers as an “expense” rather than an “investment”, seems to be over. Through the ups and downs experienced this year in the workplace, we must recognize that human capital management has been a determining success factor in the health of companies!
Human resources managers have had to deal with the pandemic crisis, with various and new repercussions on their workplaces and consequently, on their own role. These people were inevitably invited, in a short time, to become key resource people-experts in work reorganization, change management, implementation of teleworking and the implementation of mandatory health measures. . Not forgetting the daily update regarding information on subsidies, credits and employment insurance. All this while becoming detectors of psychological distress, virtual facilitators and so on. Available, caring and informed, human resources advisors tirelessly supported employees, managers and entrepreneurs.
Santa Claus, please pass on our gratitude to all the workers. Invite them to disconnect, to rest, to celebrate. And at the stroke of midnight, let us look to the future together. Let’s start 2021 by putting people at the heart of our decisions.
