#Covid19: Second wave survival kit
For several weeks, newspapers have been talking about a second wave of Covid-19, which could occur in the fall, and for which Canadians are encouraged to prepare. In such a context, would your business be ready to weather a new storm?

FIRST TOOL: THE HR HELPLINE
From the beginning of September, make sure that the statuses of employees previously laid off in March are clear. You absolutely must check the number of terminations you have made for economic reasons in the period of the last 6 months.
If you terminate more than 10 employees, you face collective dismissal. You will need to notify the Ministry of Labor and provide the number of weeks of notice, because this number is different from a simple termination (less than 10 employees). Contact us on our immediate HR helpline at514.394.1094to know more.
SECOND TOOL: THE CONTINGENCY PLAN
When you have a clear picture of the resources at your disposal, you can then develop a contingency plan by identifying essential employees, as well as those who will not be available in the event of re-containment.
To support you, Iceberg Management has producedan e-book containing all the best practicesin terms of crisis management.
THIRD TOOL: THE TELEWORK POLICY
If confinement in the fall is necessary and your employees can work from home, it is important to have a well-defined teleworking policy. These clear rules will help you manage your teams remotely. The production of internal policies being one of our specialties, we have concocteda work guide ready for deployment, order it today!
FOURTH TOOL: GOVERNMENT RESOURCES
The government has developed a tool to determine the financial assistance to which laid-off employees will be entitled,at the attached link.
To ensure that all health measures are respected, the CNESST has developed tool kits that you will find on their website, in the sectionHealth and security.
On the other hand, the IRSST offersassistance in planning the resumption of activitieswhich could be very useful during partial confinement.
To conclude, here is a short list of resources at your disposal to ensure the financial security of your business:
