Reducing Stress and Building Resilience: A Winning Strategy for Sustainable Well-Being and Performance at Work
Collaboration with Strøm Nordic Spa about resilience
Employee mental health has become a priority in the modern working world. Stress is ubiquitous, with more than a third of workers describing their days as stressful. How can companies not only survive but thrive in a world where stress is omnipresent? As demonstrated by the arrival of Bill 27 in Quebec, companies must integrate strategies to prevent psychosocial risks and promote well-being. Well-being in the workplace is thus becoming a strategic lever for sustainable performance.
Psychosocial Risks and Their Effects
The main psychosocial risks, including those specific to a teleworking context, such as work overload or lack of social support, can lead to mental health problems like burnout. These risks affect not only employees’ health, but also business performance. Studies show that employees who feel supported and valued are more committed and successful.
Strategies for Reducing Stress in the Workplace
Companies can reduce stress through a variety of measures:
- Creating an ergonomic workspace
- Encouraging open and transparent communication
- Promoting social support and stress management training
- Supporting work-life balance
- Valuing employees and offering well-being programs
Building Resilience for Sustainable Performance
Resilience enables employees to better manage stress and maintain consistent performance during challenging times. Coaching and personal development programs, as well as cultivating a culture of recognition, are essential to develop this skill. Resilient companies see reduced absenteeism and better talent retention.
Case Study: Strøm Nordic Spa and Collective Intelligence
In 2024, Strøm Nordic Spa, in partnership with Iceberg Management, implemented a co-creation approach to develop a corporate wellness offering for businesses. By facilitating collective intelligence, they quickly mobilized teams and created innovative solutions tailored to customer needs. Three projects were co-created: customer personas, a personalized customer journey and internal process optimization. These initiatives allowed Strøm Nordic Spa and Iceberg Management to successfully launch their new corporate offer across all five Quebec establishments.
Conclusion
Well-being and resilience in the workplace are no longer mere concepts, but imperatives for employee performance and satisfaction. Through targeted strategies and innovative initiatives, such as group workshops in relaxing environments, companies can transform stress into growth opportunities, while creating a healthy, high-performance, and sustainable work environment.
